A transfer of crypto between any two platforms involves just three steps.

Initiate a transfer from the exchange you want to transfer from. Get the address of the wallet from the exchange you wish to transfer to. Then just provide this address and click send. That's it, You will soon get the network confirmation, and the crypto will be available in your account.

First, I will show how it's done on the Website and later with the app. I will be using Bitcoin as an example, but the process is similar for any other crypto. I will be using Ethereum as an example, but the process is the same for any other crypto. I will be using XLM or Stellar Lumens as an example, but the process is the same for any other coin.

Step 1: Initiate a Transfer

Coinbase

Once you are logged in to the coin base account, you will be taken to the assets page, where you can see all your coins. Initiate a transfer by clicking on the Pay button on the left or the Send Receive button on the top. This will take you to the transfer page. Once you are here, you have to specify the amount you want to be transferred. This can be done in your fiat currency or the crypto but toggling this button. Select the coin you want to send from the drop-down list and the amount you wish to transfer. Now to complete the transaction, you have to provide the recipient wallet address from Binance, Kraken, Gate, Etorro.

Open the Coinbase app from your phone and click on the Send button to initiate a transfer. Now select the coin and the amount you want to transfer. Click continue. The next step is to get the recipient's wallet address.

Binance

Once you are logged in to the Binance account, go to the fiat and spot section in your wallet, where all your assets are listed. Now initiate a transfer by clicking on the withdraw button on the top or go to the currency directly and click on the corresponding withdraw button. Either way, you will reach the Crypto withdrawal page, where you will again have the option to select the coin. Once this is done, the next step is to provide the address of the receiving wallet.

Open the Binance app from your phone. This is the lite version and is enough to do all the basic things. But you also can switch to the advanced mode if you want. We will stick to the lite version for now. Head to the wallet tab and click on the withdrawal button. Now select the crypto you want to send. The next step is to get the recipient's wallet address.

Kraken

Once you are logged into the Kraken account, go to the Funding tab in your wallet, where all your assets are listed. Now initiate a transfer by clicking on the withdraw button on the top and selecting the coin to transfer. This will take you to the deposits and withdrawal page. To complete the transaction, you have to provide the address of the receiving wallet.

Open the Kraken app from your phone. Click on the Transfer tab and select the Withdraw option. Now select the crypto you want to send. The next step is to get the recipient's wallet address.

Gate io

Once you are logged into your gate account, click on the wallet button on top and select withdraw from the drop-down list. You will be redirected to the withdrawal page. You can click on the coin code and pick whichever coin you want to withdraw. In our case, we select Ethereum. Now we have to choose the appropriate network. To transfer Ethereum to Coinbase, select the ETH/ERC20 network. To transfer Ethereum to Kraken, select the ETH/ERC20 network. To transfer Ethereum to Binance, select the Binance Smart Chain, BSC/BEP20 network. And finally, to complete the transaction, you have to provide the recipient's wallet address.

To transfer Ethereum to Coinbase, select the ETH/ERC20 network. To transfer Ethereum to Kraken, select the ETH/ERC20 network. To transfer Ethereum to Binance, select the Binance Smart Chain, BSC/BEP20 network. To transfer XLM to Etoro, select the XLM network. The next step is to get the recipient's wallet address.

EToro

With Etoro, you can't directly transfer the coins from your eToro account. You have to move the asset first to your eToro wallet before you can do a transfer. Transferring coins is one-way only, which means that any crypto you transfer from the eToro platform to your wallet cannot be transferred back to the eToro platform. Open the Etoro app and click on the portfolio tab. Now select the asset you want to transfer and click on the action Buy XLM to open the trade window. Here you will have an option to move the coin to your eToro wallet. For those who don't see this option, check if you satisfy all the required conditions. New users have to wait a certain number of days starting from when they first deposited eToro and the payment method used to make that deposit. Also, your remaining equity (total equity minus the transfer amount) must be equal to or greater than the total deposits made with one or more of the below payments. After you complete the transfer, it might take one business day for the asset to be available in the Money wallet. After that, open the eToro money app and select the crypto you want to transfer. Click on the Send button to initiate the transfer. Now next step is to get the recipient's wallet address.

Step 2: Get the Recipient Address

Now click on the deposit button on the top or go to the currency directly and click on the corresponding deposit button. Now comes the critical part. You have to select the network through which the transaction happens. Just don't select the cheapest option from the list. You have to ensure that this matches the network from the exchange where you are sending the money. For Bitcoin, it's the BTC network. For Ethereum, you have to select the ERC20 network. For XLM, select the XLM network. Once you select the corresponding network, you will be shown a wallet address to which you can send your coins. Copy this address.

For XLM, you also have to consider the memo tag, which is kind of an additional address feature necessary for identifying a transaction. [Website]

Step 3: Provide the Address

Now come back to Coinbase and paste the address in the corresponding field. The procedure is similar but reversed if you want to transfer from [Binance, Coinbase, Kraken, Gate, Etorro] to [Binance, Coinbase, Kraken, Gate, Etorro].

But the crypto transferred to the eToro ends up in your money wallet and can't be moved to the eToro trading platform to buy or sell. You can use it as a storage wallet to keep your crypto and then move it to any other exchange when you want to make a trade.

And to do this in the app, the process is largely similar. The Website provides more options, but I find the app's user interface simpler.

The network selection depends on the options provided by the external wallet/exchange that you are making the withdrawal from. DO NOT select the cheapest fee option. Select the one that is compatible with the external platform. For example, you can only send ERC20 tokens to another ERC20 address. You can only send BSC tokens to another BSC address. If you select incompatible/different deposit networks, you will lose your funds.

The network fee is the money paid to the miners to validate and add the transaction to the blockchain. This could vary according to the traffic in the network and the time you are doing the transfer.

It could take somewhere from seconds to a few minutes for the transaction to be registered on the blockchain and for the coins to be credited in the receiving exchange. The time varies depending on the blockchain and its current network traffic. If you want to reduce the transfer time and escape the enormous network fees associated with specific tokens, you can watch this where I reveal a little secret on how to transfer the assets using an intermediary coin.
